Family Therapy Consultation

Consultation is provided for clinicians seeking to deepen their understanding and application of family therapy theory and principles to their individual clients and families seeking treatment. I received advanced training in family therapy under the supervision of Dr. J. Patrick Dorgan - who studied with Jay Haley, founder of Strategic Family Therapy. Therefore, an emphasis is placed on strategic family therapy concepts that help clinicians identify and understand family-of-origin dynamics, relational patterns, and the ways these dynamics may contribute to presenting concerns.

Consultation includes the discussion of practical strategies and therapeutic interventions that can be applied in clinical work. Family-of-origin communication patterns are also examined and identified, helping clinicians strengthen their ability to recognize current patterns of interaction and effectively address them in treatment.
